What is the value of your enterprise?

Kiios Services is our business consulting unit. We have one objective: to increase the value of your company. Every service, every engagement, every discussion will start and end on that single point - how will we impact the value of your enterprise? How many "self evident truths" do you subscribe to about your business? Here are a few: "we should always strive to improve customer service", "watch the pennies - don't pay $10 for something you can do internally for $8", or ""the less debt we carry, the better". These are all simple examples of false tautologies - things that we believe lead to increased firm values, but that may in fact destroy value. Why shouldn't we improve customer service? Because customers calling your help line may already be lost - perfect support at that point may be useless. Instead, you might want to invest in eliminating failures in the first place. Maybe customers love your products regardless of your after-sale support and would be more inclined to upgrade if you were less efficient at solving their problems. Why should you spend $10 for something you can do for $8? Because cost isn't the only criteria - value should be. Maybe that $8 resource can generate $12 in profits doing something else. No debt? Today you can borrow at around 6%, and if your are generating 15% EBITDA then every dollar you can borrow and deploy can generate profit, and therefore value. These aren't answers, they're just examples. Sometimes the clichés are true, sometimes not. When we assess the value of the assertion - that is the net impact to enterprise valuation then we regain our objectivity.
